What profession do you admire most and why?

After living through a pandemic, I think we have all come to realise how much we admire a little thought of profession: one that rarely gets mentioned; one that we only need when we need them; one that we just assume will be there; one that is at the cornerstone of a society (I recently read that a famous historian says that the beginning of human society is not when the first invention was created, but when someone had fixed their friends broken arm – there is archaeological evidence that the arm was allowed to heal and therefore this person must have been taken care of – by a ‘nurse’) …undertakers, no, nurses. The ability to deal with death, illness, unending questions, loneliness, aggression, fear and false hope on a daily basis and still help people is unbelievable.
