I wonder how many lock based puns I can fit into my review…
What’s it all about? Archie Blake lives with just his dad, now that his mum has died. Together they spent every Monday night locked in competition with each other to see who can unlock things the fastest. Is it just a competition, a way to spend time together or a useful skill for the future? Soon, Archie will need all his wits about him as he has to run from the police who have taken his dad and are trying to pin a robbery on him. Who should he trust? Is the mysterious Bunny on his side?
Why should I read it? A fast-paced action story for those that like their stories at full pelt – this will have you bolting through it in no time. With themes of friendship, trust and believing in yourself running throughout the book, this is for those who managed to survive lockdown! And, as the author rightly says at the beginning, thanks to Joe Wicks! The main character is compelling and his friend Bunny rests just on the right side of suspicion throughout most of the story, keeping you wondering if she’s going to turn like an episode of Line of Duty. Their relationship, is definitely the key to the whole story.
Thanks to the UKLA for the review copy.
