This book is the latest in a very successful series of books all about Anisha, a young girl who has a knack for finding the truth. In this story, Anisha and her whole family are heading to Leicester to visit the National Space Centre, and to meet an astronaut (based on the real life Ritu Karidhal). However, when they get there, her granny is accused of stealing an expensive diamond that is on display nearby. Anisha and her friends and family step-up to prove that Granny is innocent. The book is written in a very accessible style, with clearly defined characters and fantastic illustrations to help children to follow the story. I haven’t read any of the series before, and I found the start to the story very slow and boring, but once the family are on the road my interest was piqued. Certain events transpire and the story starts to grip you as a reader. Surely the clues wont lead you down the garden path…oh, yes they will! I like the relationships between the main characters and you can see why the stories are successful: I’m sure this could run and run. This book would easily link to the classroom with a study of space, or rocks (diamonds). Perfect for Years 3 and 4.
